One day at a time...

An amazing movie is about to hit the world this year. It's called Pregnant in america. Pregnant in America examines the betrayal of humanity's greatest gift--birth--by the greed of U.S. corporations. Hospitals, insurance companies and other members of the healthcare industry have all pushed aside the best care of our infants and mothers to play the power game of raking in huge profits.

His wife pregnant, first-time filmmaker Steve Buonaugurio sets out to create a film that will expose the underside of the U.S. childbirth industry and help end its neglectful exploitation of pregnancy and birth.

Go see it when it's out. BTW - IT"S MY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Call from above...

The midwife I completely trust and value is eager to set a meeting with me. I am excited and scared at the same time.

Frances and I have been busy creating. We've worked on our finger painting and cooking skills in the last couple of days. He is really eager to do more projects. I am in the process of setting up a doll house we are going to make together. (Pictures to follow shortly.)

Today Frances, Joaquin and I ventured out into the world. We went to Bed Bath and Beyond, as I needed to by a humidifier for our room. The boys seem to have the nagging cough that will not dissipate. We also went to Boarder's and Zen Zoo Tea. All was well, and he had the perfect outing until Zen Zoo Tea. Frances was all over the place, just touching everything. At one point he put some Wrapped gum in his mouth. The cashier looked at me horrified. I purchased the gum. (Joaquin is up...gotta go)

Sleeping again...

Yes, they are both sick. I am not using my time wisely. I really should start getting organized in terms of studying, but I so rarely have free time during the day. I have most of my Midwifery books, and two of the books are amazing. Holistic Midwifery Volume I and II are extremely well written. I can't wait to start.

Not a creature was stirring...

Both angel boys are sleeping, and I don't know what to do. Should I sleep, study, clean? Nappy time.

It's hard being a Mama!!!

Why does it have to be so difficult being a Mama. I'm an AP MAMA. I breastfeed, Co-sleep, delay-vax, gentle dicipline. (SP) That Toddler O' mine just wanted to push and push and push my buttons today. Motherhood will change your life. But one of the most important things you must remember is don't loose sight of yourself, who you were before giving birth.

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

Moments are so precious with my sons. As we sat in the car, Frances and I were jamming to GoodBye Yellow Brick Road. He had the biggest smile upon his face as he sang. Smiling at me, I felt like the luckest Mama in the world.

A Dream

I had a dream last night that my youngest son Joaquin started to talk. (He is 3 months.) We said "Thanksgiving at Aunt Maes." I tried to get him to repeat it with no avail. At one point I had the recorder out, ready to record everything. My family did not seem to believe me. I told my husband Ismael, that I was "happy about" him talking and in the next breath, Joaquin said, "happy about" My son is brilliant. O.K. so I spent much of the day trying to get him to say happy.

Yusuf Islam

That seems to be the theme for Frances today. He is addicted to Yusuf aka Cat Stevens. With his new album out, geared toward Muslim religion, my son is jamming to the deep tunes. At the park today, Frances spilled his bubbles everywhere and fell flat in the mud. What a delight cleaning a 2 1/2 year old, while trying to hold on to your 3 month old. Joaquin is sleeping...finally. ...and I'm so tired.
The books I ordered for AAMI. (Midwifery school) are on the way. I received one of them, Obstetric Myths versus Research realities. Gotta go and tend to Frances.
